Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are handed encouraging news by Metro that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offload Ezequiel Lavezzi this month.
The Argentine forward has been a long-term target for the Reds since losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona and they may now be allowed to snap up their man.
Lavezzi has been continuously linked with a move away from Parc Des Princes but now with Liverpool in hot pursuit for his signature, he could leave as soon as this month.
Brendan Rodgers will hope he can capitalise on the situation because apparently PSG boss Laurent Blanc has been advised by the board to sell him sooner rather than later.
This is because the flamboyant forward failed to report for a winter training camp in Morocco, putting his PSG future in jeopardy.
That said, Liverpool will not have an easy ride in signing him with Tottenham also showing a strong interest alongside other European clubs.
But it is no shock to hear that Mauricio Pochettino is in for Lavezzi as well as he looks to reinforce Spurs’ attacking options with the North Londoners incredibly reliant on Harry Kane this term.
