The summer window should be an exciting one for the Football Transfer Tavern as clubs are set to splash the cash once again, in order to reinforce and strengthen their squads for next season.

One club who will be pursuing a number of targets over the coming months is Tottenham Hotspur, who would have been bitterly disappointed to not pressure Chelsea for the Premier League title until the final day.

The north London outfit will need to get their transfer business completed as soon as possible, as those on their list will also be on the radar for top-flight rivals.

Our Spurs-mad chef here in the Transfer Tavern thinks all the arrivals into Pochettino’s side needs to be completed before the beginning of the new campaign, and possibly prior to the end of their pre-season schedule.

So with that in mind, here are TWO players Tottenham should make an early move for this summer……

Thomas Lemar

The Frenchman is amongst this week’s speculation of potential arrivals to the Premier League this summer with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly contacting the representatives of the AS Monaco youngster.

Thomas Lemar was part of the highly successful club who reached the Champions League quarter-finals and won the Ligue 1 title, bagging 14 goals and assisting in a further 17 in the 55 outings he played last season.

A host of European giants are rumoured with the 21 year-old and the supporters-by-the-bar think the interest will continue to grow, so it’s only right for Spurs to swoop in early to acquire his services.

Riyad Mahrez

The shocking news came into the Football Transfer Tavern that starlet Riyad Mahrez had shown his intentions to leave Leicester City, apparently demanding to exit the 2016 top-flight title winners this summer.

When you begin to think about it, you can’t hardly blame the Algerian international for wanting to compete in European competitions and play against the very best.

Following his surprising announcement, Tottenham Hotspur should hook him to a deal early on in the window as those interested in him beforehand will only step up their demand.
