All the Liverpool supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are definitely relishing the club under the guidance of Jürgen Klopp, with a realistic probability that the Reds will finish in a Champions League qualification place.

However, the landlord has probably been not too happy with some of the performances that have seen the team drop from potential title challengers to scrapping a spot in the top four.

Although the fans by the bar say otherwise, it’s the boss who should partly be receiving the blame for this downfall in form and not necessarily the players – but either way the future of some first-team members will be uncertain and Klopp has to sort that out between now and then.

My own piece of advice is not to get too tangled up in contract talks and transfer dealings before the campaign comes to an end because that can cause all sorts of issues with team morale.

Here are 2 Liverpool players whose futures are in limbo this summer….

Ádám Bogdán

The 29-year-old goalkeeper hasn’t made the impression at Anfield that he once hoped of when he arrived in the summer of 2015 from Wigan Athletic on a free transfer, and that hasn’t been helped by the Hungarian’s injury earlier in the season that has kept him out of action.

Ádám Bogdan was shipped out loan to his former employer after falling down the pecking order at Liverpool and the fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think his time on Merseyside is nearly up.

The former Bolton Wanderers man is now third-choice under Jürgen Klopp, or will be when he returns to training in a month or two. The boss definitely needs to ponder the future of Bogdan because he may very well be taking up a percentage of the wage bill which could be used for a more effective squad member.

Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva has been a prominent player in the first-team ever since he signed for the Reds in 2007 but recently the Brazilian has become more of a utility man rather than a certainty in the midfield, with Klopp using him as cover in the defensive position.

The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire this summer and it will be a substantial question mark over his future because he just does not fit the philosophy the manager is attempting to implement at Anfield.

Our Liverpool-mad barman will want Leiva to remain at the club because of his usefulness when depth is lacking and a one-year deal wouldn’t do any harm whatsoever, but Klopp will have to make a decision.
