Make or break: These 2 West Ham players seriously need to impress during pre-season

Our West Ham fans really are eager to see some players sign for their club before too long here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

Indeed, after last summer’s business went to pieces early on last season, they also know just how important it is for the club to get it bang on this time around.

West Ham fans also know, that their club is in desperate need for someone to put the ball in the back of the net.

Andy Carroll’s hobby is a trip to the treatment room and Diafra Sakho was out for much of last season.

They, then, like much of the squad have something to prove this pre-season to Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers are on the verge of sealing a deal for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, much to the delight of the West Ham faithful here in the Tavern.

However, It’s make or break time for some of the current West Ham squad.

Take a look at these other TWO West Ham players who simply must make an impact during pre-season…

Adrian

The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper, who has made over 100 appearances for the Hammers since joining the club from Real Betis in 2013, was demoted to number two goalkeeper after several errors last season.

It’s make or break for his Hammers career, as Adrian will have to perform to his maximum to stand any chance of displacing Joe Hart as West Ham’s number one.

Andy Carroll

The England international has failed to hit the heights that were expected of him since leaving boyhood club Newcastle for Liverpool in 2011.

Carroll, who joined the Hammers three years later has spent half of his tenure on the treatment table.

The striker returned to the side at the back end of last season and largely impressed West Ham supporters.

No fan will forget his superb bicycle kick against Crystal Palace in a hurry, but if it’s another season as an absentee, it may just be time to call time on his West Ham career.
