Man City fans cannot get enough of cult hero after last night’s tweet

Benjamin Mendy has certainly had a tough start to life in Manchester. The marauding full-back only managed five appearances for his new club before suffering an injury requiring him to undergo surgery on his cruciate ligament. Despite his injury, the Frenchman has found himself in the headlines on a number of occasions with his escapades on social media and Mendy seems to be a key figure for morale among the City players.

Last night, just over half an hour into Manchester City’s visit to the Emirates stadium, the Citizens found themselves 3-0 up and playing rampant football at the expense of Arsene Wenger’s side for the second time in five days. The Sky Blues’ champagne football led to Mendy getting on Twitter and exclaiming just how good his new club are.

Mendy signed for Manchester City for a huge fee from French side, Monaco, last summer after he was part of a youthful team that beat both Tottenham and City to advance to the Champions League semifinals. Mendy was one of a number of talents that had been prised away from Monaco since their heroics last season and City fans seem to be more than happy with their new signing, despite him only managing 389 minutes of football for his new club this season.
