Chelsea and Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling teased once again this evening.
This time its about the prospects of signing Paul Pogba after the Daily Star revealed that the Juventus midfielder’s agent has claimed his client’s future is not in Serie A.
The French international’s current contract expires in 2019 but his agent Mino Raiola has revealed he is set to leave the Juventus Stadium which has caught the attention of the Premier League’s elite.
“I want the club that buys him to believe in him and be willing to pay for him,” Pogba’s agent said.
“If Paul leaves Juventus, it is for the absolute top. If it does not happen this year, it will be next year.
“Paul is at the same level economically as the other big stars and has a similar reputation, so he could stay for another year.
“But Paul is the only major star who is available at the end of the season.
“If you cannot take Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, you can only go for Paul.”
The 21-year-old left Old Trafford in 2012 on a free transfer and it is believed that the Red Devils have been monitoring his progress enviously in Juve’s black and white shirt ever since.
He departed Old Trafford in 2012 after Sir Alex Ferguson refused to play the Frenchman regularly despite his much talked about potential.
