Manchester United have held talks with Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, according to talkSPORT. Mbeumo has been in sensational form this season, scoring 20 goals and contributing seven assists for the Bees.
It is a goal tally bettered only by Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland in the Premier League this season, and this form has seen Mbeumo become a top target for a number of clubs this summer. The player has just one year left on his current deal, which likely places him in the shop window.
Brentford reportedly value Mbeumo around £50million – with Newcastle, Arsenal, and Liverpool also known admirers. Brentford manager Thomas Frank earlier this season hinted that the player could be on the move for the right price as the Bees are a “selling club”.
Frank reinforced those sentiments after Mbeumo scored his 20th and final goal of the season in Brentford’s 1-1 draw with Wolves on the final day of the campaign.
“There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals,” he said. “I would like to keep him, but we are a selling club so if someone comes in with the right price.”
United keen to add Mbeumo

United are seemingly looking to act fast in their summer preparations, having already agreed a deal to sign Wolves forward Matheus Cunha for £62.5m. Mbeumo could now follow Cunha to Old Trafford as the Red Devils attempt to build a squad capable of bringing them back to Champions League football.
United in fact missed out on European football all together, having placed 15th in the table and losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
Mbeumo could turn out to be one of at least three attacking reinforcements for United, with the club also interested in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
Quite a bit of transfer business is expected to take place at Old Trafford this summer, with on loan attacking trio Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho all expected to depart. Alejandro Garnacho has also been told to find a new club by manager Ruben Amorim, emphasizing the need for new forwards at the club.
