Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been taken aback by the latest reports from the continent, which suggest a staggering arrival could be set for 2016.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim the Red Devils will open talks with Paris Saint-Germain to snatch Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to leave the Ligue 1 giants next summer upon the expiration of his contract.
Now 34, Ibrahimovic has starred for clubs across Europe including both Milan sides, Barcelona and current outfit PSG, where he is their all-time leading goalscorer.
The Premier League is one medal missing from his staggering collection and, if these reports are believed to be true, Ibrahimovic could be set to change that imminently; as United want his signature to bolster their push for the league title.
Whilst United would have to pay a fee to grab his services in January, it’s unlikely to be an astronomical figure as the player is out of contract in the summer- where clubs will be lining-up to grab his services for free.
