Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited to hear about their plotted January activity, after another link to a major deal in the latest transfer news.
The Mirror states United will make a £40m swoop for Lazio star Felipe Anderson in the New Year, as they look to beat Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich to the Brazilian’s signature.
22-year-old Felipe Anderson was a target for Louis Van Gaal over the summer but United were not prepared to meet the £57m asking-price for the player.
With Lazio now valuing the South American at around £35m, United seem confident that £40m will be enough to persuade the Italian side into a mid-season sale and will allow them to beat Bayern Munich in the race for the star.
United’s attack has been faltering this season, with a 0-0 draw to Crystal Palace yesterday backing up their fact, and Van Gaal wants attacking additions in January to ease the pressure on Anthony Martial; with Wayne Rooney struggling severely.
