Man Utd have not enjoyed the best start to the 2016/17 season, with Jose Mourinho’s men currently stumbling in 8th place.
It was not surprising, then, to learn that United are keen on bringing new faces to the club in the new year – with young winger Goncalo Guedes reportedly on Mourinho’s short list.
Arsenal are, apparently, also keen on the deal – marking Goncalo Guedes as a man in demand.
However, whilst a deal looked almost inevitable – the winger has now come out to deny that he is on the verge of a departure.
According to A Bola, he said: “I’m not thinking of leaving in January”.
There aren’t many ways that you can misinterpret that – our landlord thinks that it’s a clear suggestion that he will not be leaving the club this season.
The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are very disappointed with this. The Red Devils have lacked potency going forward so far this season, and Guedes would certainly offer that.
The Arsenal fans in the Tavern think that Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott will have to step up and prove themselves now.
Guedes has been in good form so far this season, having already picked up a goal and 2 assists.
