Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are going to have to brace themselves for a huge bid from Spain.

According to the Daily Star, Real Madrid have given up on luring Luis Suarez from Liverpool and have now earmarked Sergio Aguero as their big money incoming this summer.

A £60 million bid is reportedly being put together over the next few weeks in a deal that would see Aguero become one of the sides’ best paid stars.

Argentine star Aguero has been a revelation in Manchester since joining in a £36 million deal from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

He suffered an injury hit campaign this year but still managed to find the net 28 times in just 34 matches.

And it’s for that reason that Manuel Pellegrini will have no interest in selling his main striker – no matter what monumental offer Real Madrid can manage.

But it’s rumoured that Aguero fancies a crack at winning a Champions League medal and the truth is he has more chance of winning one of those with Los Blancos.

Any deal for Aguero could see Karim Benzema arriving in England with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur being long-term admirers of the Frenchman.
