It seems that after replacing Roberto Mancini following a disappointing season Manchester City are set for a very busy summer with Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini set to arrive at the club in the next few weeks.
After talk yesterday was about a raid on Pellegrini’s current club Malaga for playmaker Isco, Ed Maylon from Mirror Football has arrived to explain to punters that City are also looking to bring Sevilla winger Jesus Navas to the club during the summer.
Reports emerging from Spain this morning suggest that City’s sporting director and former Barcelona official Txiki Begiristain has been in talks with representatives of the Spanish international over a possible summer move to the Etihad Stadium.
The 27-year-old right winger has been in great form in La Liga this season and he is currently under contract until 2015 with a £29.5 million release clause but with his club suffering financial issues they could be willing to sell for well under the asking price.
Navas, who has won 23 caps for his country came close to signing for Chelsea in 2003 but decided to stay in Seville where he has spent his entire career, partly down to chronic homesickness issues which would need to be overcome if he moved to the Citizens.
