Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the summer after the Daily Star revealed that City could make a move for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.
The Croatian could be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu at the end of the season as Madrid look to pave the way for Paul Pogba.
This has given City the belief that they could make the most of this situation as Real Madrid will have to sell some stars to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules.
With Los Blancos lining up an £80m for the Juventus star it puts Modric’s future in doubt and at 29 he will not want to play second fiddle to the young star.
This is subsequently tempting Manuel Pellegrini into making a £25m bid for the former Tottenham man as he is expecting a big turn around of players at the Etihad.
