Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer were probably hoping that Sergio Aguero would have a bad World Cup campaign so the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona would be put off.
But according to the Daily Star, he can play as well as he possibly can with the Argentine striker having ruled out a move away from the Etihad Stadium.
The 26-year-old had been pointed out as a major potential signing for Real Madrid along with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as they look to regain the La Liga title.
The little-maestro scored 28 goals for Manchester City last season despite enduring an injury-hit campaign.
But despite that kind of form turning the heads of Europe’s elite, the former Atletico Madrid star insists he’s going nowhere.
He said: “There’s lots of talk about Real Madrid and Barcelona.
“It’s always the same every year, but the truth is that I’m going to stay at City.
“I’m very happy and I’m going to continue there.”
