Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been given a boost after talkSPORT revealed that they could sign Barcelona’s experienced winger Pedro as a free transfer.
United will face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool as this news will attract other heavyweights across Europe.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires in 2016 and in a recent interview he expressed his unhappiness as he is low down in the pecking order, behind Barca’s deadly trio, with Messi, Neymar and Suarez firing on all cylinders.
Pedro has only started 11 times this season and has been used as a bit-part player, which has been tough for the Spaniard.
Pedro said: “The truth is that it’s complicated for those of us who play less, but when I go out [to play], I always give it all, the best of me.
“It’s my way of being; I never give up.
“You have to thing make things complicated for the coach when it comes to choosing the starting players.”
Although United have shown an interest in the past few years, Arsenal will be fearful competition, after they signed his former teammate Alexis Sanchez in the summer.
And Arsene Wenger will hope that his huge impact and strong performances in the Premier League will convince him that a move to the Emirates is the right choice.
