Manchester United and Chelsea fans are on the edge of their seats in the Football Transfer Tavern after the London Evening Standard revealed that they are favourites to sign Real Madrid’s unwanted winger Gareth Bale.
But despite the rumours the Welshman is keen to prove the critics wrong in the Bernabeu.
He has recently been a scapegoat for Real Madrid’s poor form as fans are beginning to question his £86m price tag.
They lost the El Clasico 2-1 at the weekend and in frustration fans kicked and punched his glistening white Bentley as he left Nou Camp on Sunday evening.
After the confrontation with Bale’s car, his teammate Jese also was attacked, whilst their captain, Sergio Ramos, rolled down his window and questioned the out of order fans.
It is not just the fans who are on his back, with the press also joining the bandwagon, after they gave everyone else a rating out of three, but him!
Punters are bemused that Bale is getting this sort of treatment after his superb first season at the club.
