Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given a huge boost after the Express revealed that they had been given the green light to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
It is believed the Welsh wonder is aware of the Red Devils’ interest and their willingness to smash their transfer record in order to sign the £80m worth attacker.
This news follows the rumours that the Glazers are looking to do business in a similar fashion to the Galaticos to increase United’s worth to £3billion, to benefit them if they do eventually decide to sell the club.
It is no secret that United have been long admirers of the 25-year-old after they tabled more than the £86m fee that it cost Real Madrid to sign him.
The reason why a move to Old Trafford didn’t materialise is because negotiations with the Spanish club were too far down the line.
The player was apparently open to a move to the Theatre of Dreams, meaning a return back to the Premier League is on the cards.
Some people question if United will be able to pull off such a mega signing but punters insist that Louis van Gaal would be happy to break the United buying record he set with the capture of Angel Di Maria for £59.7m.
