Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern had been expecting a fairly quiet transfer Deadline Day today but it looks as though things could just get a bit more exciting for them.
The men from Old Trafford had looked to have got their business done with the likes of Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku arriving earlier in the window but now it seems that Jose Mourinho wants to roll the dice once more in the market.
Indeed, that is because, according to the Sun, United have launched a late bid to try and get Willian to sign for the club before the deadline passes in a matter of hours.
It had looked as though United were going to give up on signing a wide-man with the likes of Ivan Perisic ending up not moving to Manchester but Mourinho has decided to have one more go.
For sure, if he can pull this one off it would go down as one of the great, late transfers and now all we can do is wait and see if United and Chelsea agree a fee to see the classy Brazilian switch sides.

What a superb signing this would be for United and a real kick in the teeth for Chelsea at this late stage in the window.
It had looked, of the two sides, as though Chelsea would be the busy ones today but this bid could just turn the tables on that and now we’re waiting patiently to see what’s going to happen next.
