Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen themselves barred after dancing on the tables and throwing glasses in celebration of the latest rumour they heard.
The Daily Mirror cites claims that United have made contact with Antoine Griezmann’s agent, becoming the latest club to express interest in the highly-rated French forward.
24-year-old Griezmann has excelled at Atletico Madrid since moving across Spain from Real Sociedad after last summer’s World Cup, with his performances under Diego Simeone earning recognition from Arsenal and Chelsea.
United are the latest club to show interest, though they may have to break the bank for his services as reports last week claimed Chelsea would pay in excess of £50m to make the forward their most expensive signing in history.
Louis Van Gaal is in desperate need of bolstering his attack, with the pressure falling upon the shoulders of young Anthony Martial as captain Wayne Rooney is in a horrendous run of form; with question-marks over his long-term suitability to the Red Devils.
United fans that behaved and weren’t kicked out have expressed their desire to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford, stating they’re happy to let Rooney leave if it helps their chances.
