Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given disappointing news by the Daily Star this evening.
It appears that Real Madrid have edged in front of the Red Devils in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.
The Spanish giants are finalising a deal to land the flamboyant forward despite reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.
It is no secret that the 25-year-old is leaving Signal Iduna Park in the near future but punters in the tavern were hoping he would opt for a move to England with United, Arsenal and Liverpool all interested.
It is no surprise the Champions League winners are on the verge of signing the German international after he scored 23 goals for Dortmund last season.
This twist in this transfer saga has been spurred by comments made by FIFA agent Francois Gallardo who is convinced that Madrid are on the brink of signing Reus.
He said: “Real Madrid will sign Reus and operation will close within days.
“It is a very important player, if it comes to Real Madrid would be the icing for long-term project.
“He is following in a while and you want the best clubs, but he said no to all but the Real Madrid “.
Manchester United fans. How gutted would you be to miss out on the signature of Reus? Does it matter so much given you have Angel Di Maria at your disposal? Let us know your thoughts below.
