Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are relieved to hear via talkSPORT that Louis van Gaal has started talks with Paris Saint-Germain about potentially signing Marquinhos.
Defensive reinforcements are top of van Gaal’s priority list heading into the summer transfer window.
And PSG’s Brazilian international centre back is supposedly his top target and punters agree that he would perfect acquisition.
At only 20-years-of-age, he has a huge future ahead of him meaning that not only can he develop into a world class defender but would also be at the heart of United’s defence for at least the next ten years.
But sadly for the Red Devils, it will take a lot to prise him away from the French capital.
Laurent Blanc’s side signed him from Roma in the summer of 2013 for £20 million and the youngster is firmly behind fellow Brazilian centre backs Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the defensive pecking order at the Parc Des Princes.
It is expected that if the Red Devils are serious about signing him, they will comfortably have to top the £20 million the French side forked out for him two seasons ago.
