Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are at a standstill after Metro reported that Manchester United have offered a whopping £117 million bid to Real Madrid to secure Welsh international Gareth Bale.
The player in question is of course Gareth Bale who has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils as they look to really show they are one of the biggest teams in the world after a poor season last term where they ultimately missed out on Champions League qualification.
The club now want Bale who has proved a success in Spain yet has failed to receive the full support of the Real Madrid faithful and was incredibly booed last weekend leading to questions over his long-term future at the Bernabeu.
Bale is now thought to be willing to consider his options and a move to England’s biggest club could well appeal to him as he would have the chance to win the Premier League unlike his time spent at Tottenham.
We think that £117 million is a huge amount of money but given how prolific Bale has been in Spain, it could well be worth it although Angel Di Maria may disagree!
