The Express reveal to fans in the Football Transfer Tavern that Manchester United are willing to offload their star midfielder Juan Mata for £20 million.
The two clubs supposedly leading the chase are Juventus and Atletico Madrid who both see the £20 million fee as a bargain for a player of Mata’s quality.
But Louis van Gaal shares a different opinion and has not seen enough from the Spaniard despite the former Chelsea man scoring the Red Devils’ winner over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The Dutch tactician feels now is the best time to cash in on him.
Although punters disagree with van Gaal and they are saying that 26-year-old is always going to struggle when he asked to play in a deeper role whilst someone else occupies his most comfortable position in behind the striker.
And it is difficult to make that judgement of a player who has not only endured spells out of position but also having had to contend with only three full 90 minute appearances so far this season.
If the Red Devils do part with Mata for £20 million, this will represent a £17 million loss and the two interested clubs leading the race will not hesitate as they have the financial power to make the deal happen.

Man u didnt disave to sell mata, becaus man u didnt have good quarlity player, and then no good player in two position like chealsea
United must quickly get rid of Mata but at a higher price. He is a quality player even though he might not be needed in the squad and as such he should attract a higher transfer fee
Mata should remain in Man Utd, no one should not compare his performance in chelsea to his current perdormance MU because he’s got the best back-up in chelsea rather than struggling in Man Utd that does not have a good and strong defensive midfielders to back him up.
