Marca Story Was A Lie: David Villa Won’t Be A Premiership Player Anytime Soon

Barcelona forward David Villa won’t be leaving the Nou Camp to join Chelsea, Liverpool or Aston Villa, according to coach Pep Guardiola.

Villa’s future has been the subject of increasing speculation in the Spanish press in recent weeks and newspaper Marca claims that the forward is for sale with Chelsea, Liverpool and Villa all interested.

However, Guardiola said: “Marca lie. I have not spoken to David after the last match in Madrid, but all of the players are in my plans.

“Most of the players that are here now will continue for the rest of this season and the next.”

Villa has been in and out of the Barcelona side this season and has scored five goals in 15 La Liga matches.
