‘Mark Allen effect’, ‘Coast it up here like Rodgers’ - Rangers fans split on manager reports

With the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern discussing potential replacements for the recently sacked Pedro Caixinha, it’s fair to say there are some differing opinions.

Indeed, with the club on the lookout for their second manager in seven months, there are certainly some loud opinions in our bar and the pressure really is on top brass at Ibrox to get this appointment right.

Derek McInnes is perhaps the most strongly linked with a move to Glasgow, though recent reports suggest Rangers have been in contact with one of the most controversial Premier League managers of recent times.

Step forward, Alan Pardew. The former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace boss is believed to have emerged as a surprise candidate for the vacant job and the idea of seeing ‘Pardiola’ move north of the border was always likely to spark a certain amount of reaction.

Honestly, Pardew would be a massive mistake. Does ok for a spell then his teams collapse in a heap and ends up getting sacked.
