Glasses are being held aloft here in the Transfer Tavern as Chelsea fans chant Victor Moses’ name repeatedly following news that the Nigerian has signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has been truly excellent for the Blues this term, slotting in as Antonio Conte’s main right-sided wing-back following the Italian’s decision to switch to a 3-4-3 formation earlier in the campaign.
Few saw this coming with Moses having been out on loan at Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham during the last three seasons, and most thought he would be one of the casualties of the summer last year.

Alas, the pacey wide-man has put pen to paper to extend his stay in west London through to 2021, which really is brilliant news and shows that some players are still willing to get their heads down and work for their chances.
Naturally, Chelsea fans are loving the news and it’s just the latest development at the club to have them dancing around the pool table here in the Tavern.
