Celtic supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side breeze past Aberdeen 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night, thus opening up a three-point lead over the Dons at the summit.
Brendan Rodgers’ men went into their clash with Derek McInnes’ side off the back of victory in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals over Hibernian, thus giving them the chance to defend their crown in the showpiece next month, where they will meet Motherwell. And the Bhoys then made it 61 domestic games without defeat at Pittodrie on Wednesday as a Moussa Dembele brace and a first half strike from Kieran Tierney completed a comprehensive victory for Celtic, who now find themselves three points clear of the Dons at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
As such, several of our resident Celtic supporters have been in fine voice in the Tavern this week, and they will hope that their side can continue their remarkable unbeaten run when they host Kilmarnock on Saturday.
And it was a late Chris Burke equaliser for Killy on Wednesday which brought about the end of Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha, who was relieved on his duties on Thursday after just seven months at Ibrox.
During that time, the Portuguese won just 14 of his 27 games in charge of the Gers, and suffered an embarrassing defeat to Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, a defeat he wasn’t quite able to shake off as the season progressed.
And with Rangers eight points adrift of Rodgers’ Celtic, the Gers board made the decision to part with the 46-year-old on Thursday, which is news that has stimulated quite a response from Bhoys fans on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that they are somewhat disappointed by his sacking as Caixinha was, in their eyes, doing a fine job at Ibrox…
Still can’t get over Pedro Caixinha’s sacking. As a Celtic fan, I will miss him dearly for his poor management skills and horrendous patter

Am I one of the few Celtic fans who want Rangers to get a decent manager to put up some type of fight during an Old Firm game. #Caixinha
