When Manchester United signed Anthony Martial last summer, the punters in the Transfer Tavern couldn’t believe they were watching such lavish spending on a relative unknown.
Well, what a difference a season makes. Especially in the Premier League.
The Frenchman had a barnstorming season for the Red Devils, notching an impressive 17 goals following a move from Monaco that could well rise to £58m.
As a result, as reported by the Sun, the 20-year old is angling for a new deal from the Manchester giants already.
He is understood to have penned a £68k-per-week deal at Old Trafford upon his arrival, though will reportedly angle for a bumper pay rise, taking him up to around £100k-per-week.
Such is the nature of his impressive form, he’s been linked with a major move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, though is undoubtedly a huge part of United’s future.
Strike partner Marcus Rashford recently penned a new deal after his meteoric rise since February and Martial will reportedly ask new boss Jose Mourinho for a bumper new deal at the Theatre of Dreams.
Has Marital done enough to earn new deal? Is it imperative United keep a hold of him?
