Nathaniel Clyne leaning towards Liverpool exit

Liverpool have been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season as they continue to build towards securing an elusive trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds have struggled to ensure consistency in Europe this season but they remain firm contenders for the Premier League title, which will be sure to delight supporters. However, it appears as if one the club’s first team members is edging towards an exit, as according to the Liverpool Echo, Nathaniel Clyne is set to move away.

A back injury suffered in July 2017 ultimately required surgery and after making his comeback for Liverpool Under-23s last February, he failed to win his place back.

Indeed, Trent Alexander-Arnold has relished his opportunities in the first team under Jurgen Klopp, which has seen Clyne get completely pushed aside at Anfield.

So, with very limited chances being handed to him in the red shirt and other players still ahead of him in the pecking order, a January transfer window exit looks inevitable.

THE VERDICT:

Nathaniel Clyne still has plenty to offer and could be a real asset for most Premier League clubs, but his time at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end.

The Englishman won’t be able to work his way into Klopp’s plans due to Alexander-Arnold’s dominance, so the only thing to do is to look for a new challenge.
