New-look: This is definitely now Liverpool’s best starting XI

Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are relatively content with their transfer proceedings.

Having secured their status as a Champions League team once again, there was considerable excitement at the start of the summer that this would be the window in which the Reds significantly strengthened their squad.

Now that the deadline has passed, it’s fair to state that Klopp’s side has augmented the quality of their team, yet perhaps it wasn’t to the extent that several Liverpool supporters were hoping for.

Many key targets such as Virgil Van Dijk and Thomas Lemar have failed to become Liverpool players, and while the arrivals of Mohammed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke does enhance the options in Klopp’s squad, many of our resident Reds were hopeful of more reinforcements.

The question to ask now, is what is Liverpool’s best starting eleven?

GK: Simon Mignolet

The Belgian is a talented goalkeeper, yet he’s too prone to making a mistake.

LB: Andrew Roberston

Scotland’s full-back is highly regarded for his terrific dribbling and passing ability.

CB: Joel Matip

Without a doubt, after only one season, Matip has established himself as Jurgen Klopp’s most talented defender.

CB: Dejan Lovren

There’s mistakes in him, but he’s better than what else the Reds have.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold

The 18-year-old has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard and establish himself as a Liverpool great.

CM: Emre Can

Germany’s dynamic midfielder is arguably the best central option at Jürgen Klopp’s disposal.

CM: Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s captain is of great importance to the team; he has the ability to dictate proceedings at the heart of midfield.

CM: Georginio Wijnaldum

Gini Wijnaldum is regarded for his athleticism and tendency to score significant goals.

LW: Sadio Mane

Arguably Liverpool’s most talented player, Sadio Mane is a constant threat on the pitch, and he has the capacity to score wonderful goals.

ST: Roberto Firmino

The Brazilian displays an unrivalled work ethic, and he’s always lively in the box, a brilliant player.

RW: Mohammed Salah

Egypt’s winger is one of the most entertaining players in the league, he displays tremendous speed, and he offers a considerable threat on the counter-attack.
