Tottenham supporters in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with their transfer business.

For much of the summer, our resident Spurs supporters were growing impatient with the lack of incomings to the North London Club. They sat in discontent as several teams were busy strengthening the quality of their squads by exercising their vast financial resources.

Nonetheless, Spurs’ much-adored manager, Mauricio Pochettino promised new arrivals and his words transpired into purposeful action.

Tottenham have completed five summer signings, Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, Juan Foyth from Estudiantes, Paulo Gazzaniga from Southampton, Serge Aurier from PSG and Fernando Llorente from Swansea.

Pochettino’s side has recruited well during the latter stages of the window, and they have evidently enhanced the quality of their squad in comparison to last season. The question on our resident Spurs fans’ minds is what is their best starting eleven? Here’s the eleven that our landlord has chosen.

GK: Hugo Lloris

The experienced goalkeeper and club captain is a commanding presence on the field for Spurs.

May be prone to an error of late, though has done enough to support through a sticky patch.

LB: Ben Davies

The Welshman has been one of Spurs’ best players of late, thanks to his superb defensive qualities and technical ability.

Took a while to prove he’s a strong understudy to Danny Rose, though gives Spurs so much balance.

CB: Davinson Sanchez

Spurs’ new signing is highly regarded for his unwavering concentration and excellent passing ability.

Could be the long-term heir to Ledley King for Tottenham.

CB: Toby Alderweireld

The ever-dependable Belgian is one of Spurs’ most important players; he’s one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

Hopefully for Tottenham, they can get his contract issue sorted out ASAP.

What a player.

RB: Serge Aurier

Despite doubts regarding his discipline and temperament, Aurier is a terrific player, equally influential in defence and attack.

Kyle Walker with more of an end product.

CDM: Victor Wanyama

The Kenyan is the perfect shield for the defence; he stops everything that comes his way and is improving his work on the ball.

An absolute powerhouse and one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.

CDM: Moussa Dembele

The Belgian provides the perfect combination of physicality and technicality, a truly classy player.

His impact is often understated, though the former Fulham man is beyond crucial to Tottenham’s set-up.

LAM: Christian Eriksen

Tottenham’s Danish playmaker is so often their source of creativity, a true menace.

When on form, he can make things happen all over the park and his set-piece delivery is something to behold.

CAM: Dele Alli

22 goals in all competitions last season, is there anything that the 21-year-old can’t do?

Getting better and better with every passing game, Alli is up there with the very best for his age in world football.

RAM: Son Heung-Min

South Korea’s star man is a truly gifted player, he’s incredibly quick, and he’s a proficient finisher.

Took a while to adapt, though the former Bayer Leverkusen man is certainly worth his weight in gold right now.

ST: Harry Kane

99 goals in 166 games for Spurs, the Englishman is one of the most proficient strikers in world football.

While his August hoodoo hangs over him, the England captain has proved you should never write him off at all.
