Newcastle fans share the same delight as the player in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Express revealed that Hatem Ben Arfa is set to leave the Toon and head to France to join Ligue 1 side Nice.
The French side announced that a deal had been agreed in principle, which finally ends the 27-year-old’s uncertainty in the Premier League.
He has been made available for a transfer after his loan spell with Hull was cut short and on return to St James’ Park, he has not been given the chance to rejoin the first team.
But he has been handed a lifeline by Nice and their statement read: “OGC Nice have reached an agreement in principle with Hatem Ben Arfa. The France international will have a medical on Monday prior to signing with Le Gym.”
He will return to the French top flight, which he has already won four times as a youngster at Lyon, and now on his return he will look to prove his critics wrong.
