Newcastle United set to part company with Magpies ace

Hatem Ben Arfa

Hatem Ben ArfaThe future of Newcastle United ace Hatem Ben Arfa is being discussed by Magpies supporters who have taken residence in the bar ahead of their match against Arsenal.

The 27-year-old Frenchman was left out of the squad that travelled to London for the match, and although he has been struggling with a thigh injury, it is thought that the main reason is the speculation over his future.

He revealed on Instagram that Alan Pardew had not picked him for tonight’s match.

“The manager didn’t pick me in the group to go to London for the game against Arsenal,” he said.

“It is not a problem. I hope my team-mates will win at the Emirates Stadium to make our fans happy.”

These reports make the latest speculation from The Mirror all the more interesting with the paper suggesting that the former Lyon and Marseille man has probably ‘kicked his last ball for the club’.

Alan Pardew has reportedly banished Ben Arfa from the team after a heated dressing room row and that will mean that the talented but inconsistent midfielder will be sold in the summer.

He has apparently been sent to France and could make a permanent return in the summer while there is also interest from Serie A giants Roma.

His recent performances haven’t been great, granted, but we reckon Newcastle should keep hold of him. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
