The Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling fortunate their unbeaten run remains in tact after yesterday’s draw with Hibernian.
Indeed, after Neil Lennon’s men came back from 0-2 down at Easter Road yesterday to run Brendan Rodgers’ men close, with Mikael Lustig clearing off the line in the dying embers of the game to prevent Rodgers from losing his first domestic game in charge of the Bhoys.
One of the major talking points to have emerged from yesterday’s clash in Leith was the midfield battle between Hoops skipper Scott Brown and Hibs star, John McGinn. Though Rodgers claimed the latter got nowhere near Brown, some of the Bhoys in our bar have identified him as Broony’s long-term replacement.
Brown left Hibs for Celtic Park himself and McGinn certainly impressed against the Hoops in the League Cup semi-final earlier this season, despite Rodgers’ comments yesterday. Still, the idea of seeing the Scotland international move to Parkhead at some point has proven rather divisive.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the reaction to McGinn’s performance against Celtic and the idea of signing him.
McGinn of hibs is fat, at least stone over weight, snybody tipping him fur a move should contact his chef/dietician. No better than Scot Allan #broonystilltheman
