Norwich City fans have started to get worried after manager Daniel Farke revealed some worrying team news about centre-back Ben Godfrey.
The German revealed that while Godfrey is fit for the game against Aston Villa on Saturday, the England Under-21 international will have surgery on a hernia problem (via Norwich City’s official Twitter account). The news regarding his operation coincided with the 21-year-old being left of the England Under-21 squad for the upcoming games against Austria and Slovenia.
Godfrey has been one of only two players to have played every single minute of the Premier League campaign so far this season (via WhoScored).
His performances were praised by Farke, who said the defender had all the ingredients to become a ‘world-class’ centre-back (via Eastern Daily Press).
The news about Godfrey has really started to worry the Norfolk faithful as they took to Twitter to give their news on his injury.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Carrow Road faithful:
Does it means he will miss the Bournemouth and Man United games after? Or this is only a small operation?

I can’t believe the extent of injuries. Crazy! Who’s available from the U23’s? Or can fans bring their boots this weekend?
