Many Norwich fans have tweeted in emotional messages to the club account after news arose that club legend Duncan Forbes has passed away.
Forbes, 78, passed away following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The defender played over three separate decades for the Canaries from the late 60s until the early 80s, making over 350 appearances.
He helped the club get their first-ever promotion to the top division in 1972 and captained the club in two League Cup finals.
According to ITV, the player was diagnosed in 2007 and subsequently moved to a care home six years afterwards. The report states he died on Wednesday evening in the company of his family.
The club account described Forbes as “one of the greatest” to ever play for Norwich, as well as saying how much he will be missed.
Many fans poured in emotional messages to the Twitter account about the passing of Forbes, which included many fans even saying that a statue should be built for the Hall of Famer.
