With little over a month until the transfer window closes, teams need to act fast in order to secure signings for the upcoming season.

With Chelsea forking out money for Alvaro Morata, United with Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney putting pen to paper for Liverpool’s closest rivals Everton, it’s fair to say Reds fans are feeling anxious about this transfer window.

Liverpool supporters in the Tavern feel that they can’t successfully mount a challenge for the title and Champions League by only signing two players, Mo Salah and Andrew Robertson.

The landlord here in the Tavern believes that, for Liverpool to attempt to compete in both competitions, they must break their transfer record of £35m.

Liverpool fans know that Jurgen Klopp likes to get the majority of his transfers completed earlier on in the window but are hoping that the German will sign at least two more players in the next month.

With that in mind let’s look at TWO players Liverpool should sign before the transfer window closes.

Naby Keita

This has been one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer. Liverpool have attempted to sign Keita TWICE already this transfer window with the Daily Mail reporting that the Reds are to make a third bid of £74m for the Guinea international, doubling their record transfer fee.

It would seem that Keïta is also looking for a move away as he recently provoked his teammates in a training session, going in for a rough tackle on Demme. Could Keïta, by turning his team against him, force Leipzig to sell him work? Only time will tell on this one.

With the possibility of losing Emre Can to Juventus, and having already lost Lucas Leiva to Lazio, Liverpool are desperate for central midfielders.

Taison

With Liverpool looking more and more likely to lose Coutinho to Barcelona, questions are being raised about who could step into the boots of the talented Brazilian.

They do have the likes of Lallana, Firmino, Salah and Mane in their books but they could always use more Brazilian flair.

One option could be Shakhtar Donestk’s Taison. He’s experienced in the Champions League and would compliment Liverpool’s already potent attack with his pace and skills.

Due to the playmaker being 29, this will make him a cheap but reliable option. The only question posed by fans at the Tavern is whether he can compete well in the Premier League having played primarily in the Ukrainian Premier League, though Willian has already shown that this experience is not needed, and has flourished at Chelsea.
