Not over yet: 3 games that could genuinely wreck Chelsea’s title chances

The Chelsea supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are waiting in anticipation as the Premier League title is just weeks away.

If they do happen to be crowned top-flight champions, which is highly possible, then it will be a fifth for the Blues and they’ve done it under some exceptional football guided by the Italian magician that is Antonio Conte.

The former Juventus boss is good at one thing in particular, and that is keeping his players calm.

They still haven’t won the title and the players need to be reminded of that, especially as Tottenham Hotspur are quietly creeping behind them.

They cannot afford to drop points asa handful of games still remain, although our landlord suggests if the team can overcome the next few fixtures then it’s an easy ride to the end of the campaign.

So baring that in mind, here are THREE games that could still wreck the Blues’ title chances this season….

Chelsea v Southampton (23rd April)

The Blues have the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against rivals Tottenham Hotspur and the manager will be keen to see that his players don’t fall to defeat in that, and so will use all his key players, however they will be forced to play once again days later against Southampton.

Our landlord fears if the team focus on the cup then a weakened side may be put out at home to the Saints.

That may result in the Blues falling to defeat and that could seriously scupper their dreams of a Premier League title, especially if the visitors are attempting to finish as high as possible.

Everton v Chelsea (30th April)

If there’s one thing we all know in the Football Transfer Tavern it’s that any visit to Goodison Park is difficult, no matter who the opponent is – many top-four sides have fallen to defeat at Everton from down the years.

Chelsea may be in terrific form, but a Toffees side fighting to break into the realms of Arsenal and Manchester City will make it a tough battle for Antonio Conte’s men.

In fact, supporters by the bar have been discussing this fixture heavily.

They think if the three points go back to Stamford Bridge then the title will be more or less confirmed.

West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea (12th May)

It’s been the Baggies’ home form that has seen them consistently stay within the top-half of the table throughout the season and it could very well be this, which wrecks Chelsea’s campaign.

Antonio Conte knows the strengths that West Brom impose and would hope his players have the capability to overcome this, however, the home supporters will be up for the game.

The Football Transfer Tavern is excited about this fixture as an upset could be on the cards to ruin the prospect of the top-flight title going to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans, do you think these three games could be hiccups or are the points in the bag? What other matches could be potential bumps? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments below!
