Nottingham Forest: Fans discuss Brian Clough selection

Nottingham Forest fans have looked back on Brian Clough’s 2001 selected dream team which included the likes of Peter Shilton, Des Walker and Stuart Pearce.

Following a moderately successful playing career, Clough took over Forest in 1975 and spent a quite remarkable 18 years in charge of the East Midlands club, guiding them in no less than 996 matches.

During his time at the City Ground, Clough had unprecedented success, winning the League Cup five times, plus the First Division and two infamous European Cup titles. Spending such a long period in charge of the club, he would eventually call time to his reign in 1995, leaving behind a legacy that will live on forever in the hearts of Forest fans.

Passing away at the age of 65 in 2004, Clough released his all-time Forest eleven a year previous, which included a whole host of established club legends and former England internationals.

Clough’s side included former England great Shilton, along with both Walker and Pearce, who also played for the Three Lions during their careers.
