Liverpool fans have had a frustrating window up to this point and those in the Tavern have watched several clubs reject their approach for key players, most recently RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.
It could be a sign that the Reds are no longer able to attract the most sought-after names in Europe, which has astonished our Liverpool-mad bar man, but this may result in boss Jurgen Klopp exploring the other end of the spectrum, the golden oldies.
The Merseyside giants already have a number of players who fit into that category, with first-teamer James Milner has impressed at Anfield.
Undoubtedly, Liverpool have a very young squad compared to their Premier League rivals and it is time they equalled out the balance between youth and experience, with the club desperately in demand of the latter according to fans by the bar.
Liverpool should secure a surprise swoop for these two over-30 players this summer….
Jose Fonte

Jose Fonte is admittedly one of the most underrated defensive outlets in the Premier League; having spent most of his footballing career at Southampton, the centre-back has largely gone under the radar for his superb efforts.
Those consistent, impressive displays for the Saints earned him a move to West Ham United in January, which angered Liverpool supporters in the Tavern who eagerly wanted his services at Anfield.
The 33-year-old formed a formidable partnership alongside Dejan Lovren during their time at Southampton and with the Reds so fragile at the back, Jurgen Klopp would hugely benefit from Fonte’s addition to recapture that form between the two.
Ben Foster

It’s relatively obvious ato our Liverpool-supporting landlord that the team are desperately in need of an imposing goalkeeper up to scratch for Premier League and European football.
Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet were constantly slammed by supporters last term, with the former struggling to adapt to life in this physical division following his move from Germany.
Whereas, Mignolet doesn’t please the large majority of Liverpool’s fan base and he swiftly needs replacing, which would be done if Jurgen Klopp made a surprise swoop for West Bromwich Albion man Ben Foster.
The ex-Manchester United shot-stopper is far from a blockbuster signing, but his trade in the top-flight can only be matched by a few and the 34-year-old easily has one or two years left in him to perform at the very top level.
Liverpool supporters, would you admit that Jose Fonte could improve your back line? Is an experienced top-flight ‘keeper what Jurgen Klopp is missing as we approach the new season? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!
