Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Tavern really believe that next season is the year that their side goes all the way in the Premier League.
The past two seasons have seen Mauricio Pochettino’s men fall just short and the thought in the Transfer Tavern is that the Lilywhites aren’t too far away from bringing a trophy home.
Preferably, this would be the Premier League but there are many Spurs’ fans in the Tavern that would just like a trophy to celebrate come the end of the season and they’d love it to be the Poch who provides it for their club.
Our landlord has given his view on what Spurs need to do in order to go one step further in the league next season and he thinks that this young squad assembled by Pochettino really lacks old grit and the know how of how to get over the line – he has suggested that Daniel Levy and the Spurs board really should look into signing some experience to get their side over the line next season.
It is a comment that has really got the Lillywhites in the Tavern talking and they have been discussing which golden oldies their side would benefit from signing before the summer is out.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The Spurs fans cannot believe our landlord has suggested their side swoop for Ibra with his current injury but the thought is that he can really take the goalscoring load from Harry Kane at the crunch point of next season where Pochettino’s men have so often failed.
The Swede has not been offered a new contract at Manchester United and an offer to play at Wembley next season as well as be part of one of the most exciting squads in English football may be an offer he is willing to take.
Thomas Vermaelen
Another outrageous comment from our landlord has seen him linked the former Arsenal captain, Thomas Vermaelen to a move to Spurs.
Though it is a shocking comment, it is not too ridiculous when you consider he would be partnering up with Belgium team mates, Jan Vertonghan and Toby Alderweirald should he move back to North London and with Eric Dier being linked to Manchester United and move for the Barcelona man could well be shrewd one.
