Ones to watch: You need to keep your eyes peeled on these 2 West Ham starlets

The West Ham fans over by the bar are convinced their side will make the top eight this season.

Despite a persistent rumble of discontent throughout pretty much the entirety of last season, the East Londoners recovered to comfortably finish mid-table in the Premier League.

The London Stadium was hardly a fortress, but it was there debut season at their new home and Bilic was forgiven for the club’s unsettling start.

However, the Croat will be aware that supporters now expect the Hammers to improve on last season’s 11th place and to edge closer towards the top six teams this season.

After the club’s slow start to this summers’ transfer window, the Hammers have recently landed Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic and former Manchester United ace Javier Hernandez.

Yet there are a number of top gems already in the squad. We’ve picked out TWO who you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled on this season…

DOMINGOS QUINA

The highly rated 17 year-old is expected to emerge into the first-team this season after a series of eye-catching performances for Portugal at the U19 Euros in Georgia.

Domingos joined Bilic’s side from Chelsea last summer and was immediately given an opportunity in the Europa League before the Premier League season got underway.

The teenage midfielder has quick feet and is a superb dribble of the ball. He can play as a No 10 or is equally comfortable out wide.

EDIMILSON FERNANDES

The 21 year-old played in a host of games last season, but starts came at a premium.

Fernnades was brought on in 20 of his 28 games.

With West Ham’s injury problems, the Swiss was utilised at first at left wing-back, then at right wing-back, neither of them the box-to-box role he wants.

He had great success last season and is the one to watch for the Hammers this campaign.
