The Jack Army are here at the Transfer Tavern and after only just avoiding relegation last season, they’re hoping for a much better showing next time out.

Whilst the Swansea senior side was struggling massively in a relegation dog fight, their U-23 side absolutely stormed their league, winning the title by 11 points.

Swansea have been a mainstay in the Premier League for the last six seasons and despite qualifying for Europa League football following on from their 2013 League Cup Final win over Bradford, they have started to seriously descend down the league table.

With the failures and successes of each side coming at the same time, it might be time for Paul Clement to think about bringing some of those youngsters who performed so well, up to the senior ranks of the Welsh side and see what their talents can do in the Premier League.

With that being said, our landlord has identified TWO Swans wonderkids who Paul Clement should think about using next season….

Oliver McBurnie

The 21-year-old striker wrote his name into Swansea City folklore when he scored two goals in four first half minutes on his official debut for the club.

Swansea are in need of a new star man up top because, despite the fact that Llorente scored 15 league goals last season, at 32 years old he isn’t getting any younger.

Llorente also somehow recently broke his arm in a cycling accident on holiday and it is being questioned as to whether he will be fit to start the first few games of next season.

Llorente may live to regret not just having a beach holiday like everyone else because players like Oliver McBurnie will only need a few games in quick succession to get used to the Premier League and if that happens, McBurnie could be the Swans’ new number nine.

Keston Davies

A Swansea-born centre-back, Keston Davies made his debut for the Swansea U-23 side aged just 15.

He is calm, poised and now the captain of the U-23 side, leading them to glory and promotion to the Premier League 2 Division 1.

The sort of player who could stay at Swansea for years to come, not only because he signed a new contract with the club at the tail end of last year but because Swansea are his childhood club.

If he keeps going the way he is going he will rise through the ranks of Swansea very quickly.

With the likes of Fernandez and Mawson two of Swansea’s best choices for centre-backs at the moment, Davies could easily take one of their places and could, maybe one day, find himself captaining the senior squad too.
