Indeed, it’s believed that Manuel Pellegrini has given the green light for the Hammers to make an £18 million bid for the 23-year-old, with the Chilean well aware that other clubs are keeping a close eye on the midfielder.
It remains to be seen as to how Sporting Lisbon will respond to the Hammers’ bid, but supporters will be delighted to see that their new boss is willing to splash the cash.
So, with Manuel Lanzini currently suffering from a knee injury, Pellegrini is making a sensible decision by looking to bring in another creative midfielder.

Pellegrini is making a big statement of intent by moving for Bruno Fernandes as it shows that he isn’t afraid to splash the cash and will do everything he can to bring talented players to the London Stadium. Fernandes has established himself as a star over in Portugal and has already impressed at the World Cup, so the Hammers would be getting themselves an impressive midfielder.
