‘Player of the Year’ - Rangers fans on Twitter feeling happy for 28-year-old

The Rangers fans in the Tavern have been reacting to the news that their on-loan winger, Jamie Murphy has been awarded the player of the month award for March for his performances on the left-hand side of Rangers attack. Murphy will be hoping he can carry his form into this weekend as Rangers face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.

Murphy beat James Tavernier and Declan John in a vote to be named Rangers Player of the Month for March. The wing-wizard scored a single goal in the month in a 2-2 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park. The Scottish winger joined Rangers on loan for the remainder of the season in January and looks set to make his loan permanent in the summer after failing to make an impact at his parent club Brighton in the first half of the season.

Murphy’s showings in Scotland have been impressive, he’s already scored four goals and registered five assists in eleven Scottish Premier League games as a Ger. The fans will be hoping he can convert his league form into the cup as the Ibrox faithful face their biggest game of the season on Sunday at Hampden Park. Celtic are a matter of weeks away from winning back-to-back trebles for the first time in their history and if Rangers can overcome the Bhoys in Green in the cup they’ll prevent Brendan Rodgers’ side from achieving it, as well as claiming bragging rights in the process.
