Pochettino needs to keep tabs on these 2 RB Leipzig players for Tottenham

Spurs are a force to be reckoned with this season, and the punters here in the Transfer Tavern are loving life!

During Leicester’s surprise march to the title, Spurs were one of their main challengers until they faded towards the end of the season.

This time around, whilst Leicester’s title charge has significantly faded, Spurs are still in the upper echelons of the league, challenging those around them.

However, Mauricio Pochettino will be very aware of the fact that his Tottenham team seem to have a problem of turning draws into wins.

Some of these points will be crucial at the end of the season, but draws away at West Bromwich Albion, Bournemouth and Everton could easily have been three points if it wasn’t for a number of spurned opportunities.

With this in mind, the boys at the Transfer Tavern think that the Argentinian should turn to the Bundesliga to find some ruthlessness.

He has already dipped in to the German Premier Division to sign Heung Min Son who is impressing this campaign but we think he should look to the surprise package this year – RB Leipzig.

The Bulls possess TWO clever attacking stars who we think could impress in London….

Emil Forsberg

The 25-year-old Swede is best known for his time at Malmo where in one year he scored 19 times in 57 league appearances.

However, after departing Sweden the winger joined RB Leipzig and was voted as the Bundesliga. 2 player of the season in his first season with he club as he helped guide them to promotion to the German Bundesliga for the first ever time in their history.

The club have been active for less than two decades yet they have seen this meteoric rise lead them to be joint top with Bayern Munich in the current standings.

Whilst there is no reason for Forsberg to leave at the minute, in the long term we think he could be a very good prospect for Spurs.

As it stands he is one of the sides top performers too as he is second in the scoring charts, behind Timo Werner with four goals whilst he leads the assist records with another four to his name.

He has also featured 23 times for the national side, scoring two goals.

Marcel Sabitzer

Another one of the hottest prospects in Germany right now is Marcel Sabitzer.

The 22-year-old Austrian footballer has scored eleven league goals in 40 appearances for the Bulls and is considered as one for the future.

We know that Pochettino likes to sign players of a young age so that he can nurture them to play the football that he likes.

He is always keen to give youth a chance and Sabitzer certainly fits that criteria.

Additionally, behind Forsberg and Werner, he is third in the scoring charts with three goals to his name this term which is a very acceptable record.

There’s no doubt Spurs have an abundance of talent, but, sometimes they just seem a bit flat and lose their sharpness in front of goal and one or both of these players would help reinvigorate that zip around the box.

They’re well worth a scout!
