Mauricio Pochettino successfully orchestrated his Spurs side into the top four for the second season running, and our resident Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with how it’s all going.

Spurs are in preparation for a second time lucky attempt at making Wembley Stadium a fortress.

Their temporary home blew up in their faces last season as they underwhelmed in the Champions League and failed miserably in the Europa League.

Pochettino’s side are yet to register any transfers this season and some fans are unhappy at the seemingly lack of activity at the club.

But some Spurs fans here in the Tavern seem think there are players in the squad that the Argentine should use more regularly next season.

We’ve picked out TWO fringe players who the Spurs boss would be foolish not to offer more game time next season…

Kieran Trippier

With Kyle Walker strongly linked with moves away, the right-back could be handed more game time regardless of his impressive performances last season.

With Pep Guardiola circling Walker, the defender is seemingly determined to leave Spurs for the Citizens.

The Englishman who took part in just 12 matches last season, picked up five assists for Spurs.

At 26, Trippier will be desperate to play regular football.

Erik Lamela

Unfortunately, Lamela missed much of last season after suffering from a hip problem.

Fortunately for Tottenham, Heung Min Son was more than happy to step up and provide 21 goals in all competitions for Spurs. Son’s superb campaign has by default pushed Lamela onto the fringes of the first XI.

Lamela is set to miss pre-season and possibly the start of next season as he continues to recover from a hip problem.

Yet the 25 year-old will be raring to go once he’s worked his way back to full fitness.
