It’s fair to say that Tottenham will have to do a great deal if they want to put themselves in contention for the title this season, due to the quality of their rivals.
It was always unlikely that they could challenge for the title this season, seeing as they didn’t sign anyone over the summer.
Their hope is reliant on their new stadium being a lure for top players but securing the services of their current players is equally as important.
This is because, The Sun are reporting that Real Madrid are very interested in signing Christian Eriksen, a player capable of winning a match on his own.
Despite injury preventing his progression this season, Eriksen still has four assists and a goal, proving that considering he is 26, it would be a massive loss for Tottenham.

Tottenham’s top four hopes crushed
Losing such a significant player will only have bad consequences and for Tottenham, it could well mean that they miss out on a place in the top four.
Whilst currently occupying a place in the top four, losing their best creative source in Christian Eriksen would damage them as a team.
Squad depth extremely worrying
As if it wasn’t already a concern, it certainly would be now. Tottenham are a side known for having a brilliant starting 11 but nothing in terms of strong squad depth.
If they lost another one of their players, especially one so influential, the brilliance of Spurs in recent years could slowly start eroding.
