Tottenham will be on a wee bit of a high, here, following their recent qualification for the Champions League group stages.
Wigan will be on a bit of a low, following hammerings at the hands of Blackpool and Chelsea. I don’t reckon it’s possible for Spurs to be so complacent as to drop points at home to a dire Wigan side who they thrashed, quite spectacularly, 9-1 in this fixture last season.
It’s all a bit gloomy in Wigan, where their best player, Charles N’Zogbia, looks set for a move to Birmingham, and Roberto Martinez has been made an early favourite to be the next Premiership manager to leave his post. I can’t see any repeat of last season; after all, they don’t have Erik Edman any more, but I can see a fairly comfortable win for Spurs, despite some early injury troubles.
My Prediction -Tottenham 3 Wigan 0
