Liverpool: Fans love Jurgen Klopp blocking Phillipe Coutinho return

A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting positively to the news that Jurgen Klopp has blocked Philippe Coutinho’s potential return to Anfield.

It feels like a long time ago now that the playmaker traded the Reds for Barcelona, at a time when he left plenty of supporters unhappy. The Brazilian left in January 2018 having forced through a move, and ironically Liverpool have never looked back from that moment.

Klopp’s men have won the Champions League and Premier League in that time – they reached another final in Europe, too – while Coutinho’s career has stuttered. The 29-year-old has had a poor spell at Barca, even being loaned out to Bayern Munich, and he could leave the Catalan giants this summer.

According to Sport [via LFC Transfer Room on Twitter], Klopp blocked Coutinho’s hopes of a dream return to Liverpool, not seeing him a suitable addition in the transfer window.

These Liverpool fans lauded Klopp’s actions, not wanting to see the forward back at the club considering the manner in which he left three-and-a-half years ago.
